BrainMet Survey English
We ask you to carefully read the following information.
At present, at the moment of the diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer, patients undergo several imaging tests to discard the presence of distant localizations of the disease, especially in lungs/chest, locally, in the abdomen and bones.
Upfront brain imaging exams are not routinely recommended in the absence of neurologic or cognitive signs or symptoms that may suggest the presence of brain metastasis. In fact, while performing systematic imaging exams of the brain in asymptomatic patients can successfully anticipate the diagnosis of a brain metastasis, there is no sufficient evidence showing a clear association with longer survival. As a consequence, it is unknown if performing routine brain imaging could be a preferable choice for patients.
This survey aims to better understand your perception and perspective on this topic, in order to develop new management strategies for patients with metastatic breast cancer and improve the quality of breast cancer care. The researchers assure the anonymity and confidentiality of all data
Our intention ist to improve the patient care with your support.
